Exam Question Types (6 types)
Question types available for exam books. You can set correct answers for scoring.
| Question Type | Color | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Fill in the Blank | Blue | Questions where respondents fill in blanks in a sentence |
| Ranking | Turquoise | Questions where respondents arrange choices in correct order |

Partial Points Feature
For exam questions with multiple answers within a single question (e.g., fill-in-the-blank with multiple blanks, multiple-choice with multiple correct answers), you can award partial points for partially correct responses.
Note: This feature is available on iOS/Mac version 1.2.7 and later. Windows version will support this feature in an update scheduled for January 2026.
Question Types Supporting Partial Points
| Question Type | Condition for Partial Points |
|---|---|
| Fill in the Blank | When there are 2 or more blanks |
| Ranking | When there are 3 or more items to arrange |
| Connect | When there are 3 or more connection pairs |
| Pin-Point | When there are 2 or more correct pins |
| Multiple Choice | When there are 2 or more correct choices |
| Select Picture | When there are 2 or more correct images |
How to Set Partial Points
- In the question edit screen, questions meeting the conditions display "(Partial Points Available)"
- Tap the "Set Partial Points" button to enable the partial points feature
- Set individual point values for each answer (blank, choice, etc.)
- The total score for the question is the sum of all answer point values
Scoring Rules
- Fill in the Blank, Ranking, Connect: Points for correct answers are added together
- Pin-Point, Multiple Choice, Select Picture: Partial points are awarded only when selecting correct answers exclusively. Selecting even one incorrect answer results in 0 points
Tip: Using partial points allows for more granular assessment of respondent understanding. For example, if a fill-in-the-blank question has 5 blanks and 3 are answered correctly, you can award partial credit instead of marking it as completely incorrect.
