Handbook X Overview
Handbook X is a Mobile Content Management (MCM) service that bundles business files—PDFs, images, videos, and web pages—into books and delivers them securely with fine-grained permissions. Coordinator Web UI handles creation, distribution, and administration, while native apps on each OS handle reading and day-to-day use.
Key Concepts & Terminology
Workgroup
Top-level unit for a team or organization
Holds members, books, and groups. Each member is assigned a sharing permission within the workgroup.
Group
Delivery target bundle (nestable)
Organizes workgroup members by department, role, or location so you can share books with everyone at once.
Book
Container for content
The basic unit of distribution. Add sections to a book and configure sharing to deliver it to members (up to 200 sections per book).
Section
Items inside a book
Holds PDFs, photos, videos, web links, or multi-file bundles. Can be organized with colored Chapter Labels.
Sharing
Who can access what, and how
Share with individual users, groups, or via access code, with view / edit / duplicate / download permissions and validity periods.
