3. Book List

The book list screen displays and manages all accessible books.

This is the main screen displayed after login.

Book Display Information

Each book shows the following information:

Switching Display Mode

You can switch the book display format.

Grid View

Books are arranged in tiles. Cover images are displayed larger, making it easier to find books visually.

List View

Books are arranged in a single column. Detailed information like title and update date is displayed.

Sorting Books

You can change the book display order.

  1. Click the sort icon Sort in the navigation bar
  2. Select sort criteria:
  3. Manual: Drag and drop to reorder freely (↑ icon toggles ascending/descending)
  4. Name: Alphabetical order
  5. Book Created: Order by book creation date
  6. Updated: Order by last update date
  7. Book Size: Order by file size

Searching Books

You can search books by keyword.

  1. Click the search icon Search in the navigation bar
  2. Enter keywords in the search bar
  3. Books matching the title are displayed
  4. To clear the search, click the × button or close the search bar

Filtering by Workgroup

You can filter books by workgroup.

Workgroup Tabs

Use tabs at the top to switch displayed workgroups:

Workgroup Selection

If you have many workgroups, scroll horizontally to see other workgroups.

Book Synchronization

Book contents are synchronized with the server.

Sync Status Icons

An icon showing sync status is displayed at the bottom right of the book cover image.

Status Icon Description
Cloud Reference Cloud Referencing content on the server. Not downloaded to device
Downloaded Local Content downloaded to device. Can be viewed offline

Note: When you click a downloaded book, a dialog appears asking if you want to switch to cloud reference and delete local content.

Tip: Newly shared books are in cloud mode by default. This prevents unexpected storage consumption when books contain large content like videos. To automatically download, enable "Auto-download shared book content" in Settings.

Update Notifications

When a book has updates, a "New" or "Update" label is displayed at the bottom left of the cover image.

Manual Sync

  1. Click the refresh button in the toolbar

Auto Sync

Syncs automatically on app launch and at regular intervals.

Note: For large books, we recommend downloading over a stable network connection.

Creating Books

If you have edit permissions, you can create new books.

  1. Click the "+" button at the bottom right of the screen
  2. Select "New Book"
  3. Enter book information:
  4. Title: Book name (required)
  5. Description: Book description
  6. Cover Image: Select from file
  7. Click "Save"

The created book is saved to the associated workgroup.

Importing Books

You can import books exported from Handbook X (.hbx format).

  1. Click the "+" button
  2. Select "Import from File"
  3. Select the .hbx file to import
  4. Once imported, it's added to the book list

Note: Only .hbx files exported from Handbook X can be imported. General file formats like PDF cannot be directly imported. To add PDF or image files to a book, import them as sections after creating the book.

Import from Explorer

You can also open .hbx files from Explorer in Handbook X:

  1. Right-click the .hbx file in Explorer
  2. Select "Open with" → "Handbook X"
  3. Import is executed

Editing and Deleting Books

Books with edit permissions can be edited or deleted.

Note: To edit a book, you need edit permissions and the book must be downloaded (local mode). Books in cloud reference mode cannot be edited.

Entering Edit Mode

  1. Click the edit button (pencil icon) in the toolbar at the top right
  2. In edit mode, the screen changes as follows:
  3. Top left: "Select All" button (select/deselect all books at once)
  4. Top center: Selection status display ("No books selected" or "○ books selected")
  5. Top right: "Done" button (exit edit mode)
  6. Top left of each book: Selection checkbox (circular icon)
  7. Top left (slider): Thumbnail size adjustment (grid view only, adjust with -/+ buttons and slider)
  8. Bottom: Action bar (Edit, Duplicate, Share, Export, Details, Delete)
  9. Click a book to select it, and a checkmark will appear

Editing Books

  1. In edit mode, click the book you want to edit to select it (checkmark appears)
  2. Click "Edit" in the action bar at the bottom
  3. Edit dialog appears
  4. Change required items and click "Done"

Deleting Books

  1. In edit mode, click the book you want to delete to select it
  2. Click "Delete" in the action bar at the bottom
  3. A confirmation dialog appears
  4. Type "Delete" in the input field
  5. Click the "Delete Book" button

Warning: Deleting a book also deletes all sections in that book. This action cannot be undone. To prevent accidental deletion, you must type "Delete" to confirm.

Multiple Book Operations

In edit mode, you can select multiple books at once:

  1. In edit mode, click multiple books to select them
  2. "N books selected" is displayed at the top
  3. Select an operation from the action bar at the bottom
  4. Click "Select All" to select all books at once

Action Bar Buttons

The action bar has the following buttons. Enabled/disabled status changes based on selection count and permissions:

Share Only for books you own
Export Requires export permission
Info
Delete Requires delete permission

Note: "Edit", "Share", and "Info" buttons are disabled when multiple items are selected. These operations are only available when a single book is selected.
