7. Memo
Use the memo feature to create handwritten notes and PDF annotations.
Requirements for Using the Memo Feature (Permissions)
The requirements differ between blank memos and PDF annotations.
| Feature | Cloud Version | Dedicated Server |
|---|---|---|
| Creating and editing blank memos | All users (no permission restrictions) | All account permissions (including "Read-only") |
| PDF annotations | Available if the target book meets the conditions below | In addition to the book conditions, the account permission must be "Editor" or higher |
Conditions required on the target book for PDF annotations (common to both plans; all required):
- The book's sharing permission must include Duplicate (books you created always qualify; shared books must have been shared with the "Duplicate" permission)
- The book's Export setting must be ON (configured on the book information screen; ON by default)
Note (Dedicated Server): Users whose account permission is "Read-only" or "Editor (Export Prohibited)" cannot use PDF annotations or "Copy To Memo" for sections. Owner / Admin / Editor accounts can use them. For details on account permissions, see Coordinator WebUI Manual "7. Accounts".
Tip: Blank memos are stored locally (and in iCloud), so they can be used regardless of server permissions. However, "Add to Book" is only available for books where you have edit (write) permission.
