9. Sharing

Use the sharing feature to share books with other users and workgroups.

Sharing List Screen

Select "Sharing" from the side menu to display the sharing list screen.

Toolbar

Position Item Description
Left Menu Open side menu
Center Title Displays "Sharing"
Right Add (+) Create new share

Sharing List

Books currently being shared are displayed in a list. Each row shows the following information:

Column Content
Book Book thumbnail and title
Member/Group Share recipients (see below)
Edit Edit button (pencil icon)

Share Recipient Display

Share recipients are displayed in one of the following formats:

Tap the QR code icon to open the access code QR code screen.

Creating Shares

Share Creation Steps

  1. Tap the "+" button at the top right of the sharing list screen
  2. Share settings screen is displayed
  3. Configure the book to share, sharing method, recipients, and permissions
  4. Tap "Save"

Share Settings Screen

The share settings screen allows you to select a book and configure sharing settings in a single screen.

Screen Structure

The share settings screen consists of the following sections:

  1. Book Selection: Select the book to share
  2. Sharing Method: Choose the sharing method
  3. Group/Member: Share recipient settings (when using Members/Groups)
  4. Access Code: Access code settings (when using Access Code)
  5. Permissions: Permissions to grant to share recipients
  6. Sharing Timeframe: Share validity period settings

Selecting Books to Share

In the "Please Select the Book You Wish to Share" section, select the books you want to share:

Selecting Sharing Method

In the "Sharing Method" section, select one of the following:

Option Description
Members, Groups Specified Share books with specific members or groups
Access Code Share books using an access code

Sharing with Members/Groups

When "Members, Groups Specified" is selected, you can share books with specific members or groups.

Selecting Groups

In the "Group" section, available groups are displayed with checkboxes:

Adding Members

In the "Member" section, you can add individual users as share recipients:

Setting Permissions

In the "Permissions" section, set permissions to grant to share recipients using checkboxes:

Permission Description
View Can view the book (always ON)
Edit Can edit the book
Duplicate Can duplicate the book

Sharing with Access Codes

When "Access Code" is selected, you can share books with users outside your workgroup using access codes.

Access Code Settings

Item Description
Access Code Access code to use. Tap to select an existing code or create a new one
Permissions Permissions for users accessing via access code (view/edit/duplicate)

Access Code Features

Setting Share Duration

Set the period during which the book is shared.

Enabling Share Duration

  1. Turn ON the "Sharing timeframe" toggle
  2. The following options are displayed:

Duration Setting Options

Item Description
By Date When ON, specify dates only without times
Share From Date/time when sharing becomes active
Share To Date/time when sharing ends
Creates new Event in Google Calendar When ON, creates an event in Google Calendar

Share Duration Behavior

Editing Shares

Edit existing share settings.

Editing Steps

  1. Tap the edit button (pencil icon) on the row of the book you want to edit in the sharing list
  2. Share settings screen opens
  3. The following can be changed:
  4. Add/remove share recipient members/groups
  5. Permissions for each share recipient
  6. Access code settings
  7. Share duration
  8. Tap "Done"

Unsharing

Remove book sharing.

Unshare Steps

  1. Swipe left on the row of the book you want to unshare in the sharing list
  2. "Unshare" button appears
  3. Tap "Unshare"
  4. Tap "OK" in the confirmation dialog

Note: When you unshare, share recipients will no longer be able to access the book. The book itself is not deleted.

Displaying QR Codes

Display QR codes for books shared with access codes.

Tap the QR code icon in the sharing list to open the QR code screen:
