13. Question Studio (Integrated into the Web UI)

Important: Question Studio in the Windows app (the feature for creating and managing exams and surveys) has been integrated into Question Studio in the Web UI. Please use the Web UI to create, edit, and publish questions and question books, and to view results. For details, see "10. Question Studio" in the Web UI manual.

Note: You can still take exams and respond to surveys in the Windows app by opening shared (published) question books from the Book List.

Web UI Integration Notice Dialog

When you select "Question Studio" from the side menu, a notice dialog with the following message is displayed:

Question Studio support in this application has been sunsetted and replaced with the Web UI version.

The dialog offers the following actions:

Item Description
Access Web UI Opens Question Studio in the Web UI (https://<server name>/question-studio/questions) in your default browser
Backup Exports the local question and question book data remaining in the app to files (see below)
Done Closes the dialog

Note: This menu item is only shown for accounts with the Question Studio (examques) feature enabled.

Backing Up Local Data

If questions and question books you previously created with Question Studio in the Windows app remain on your device, you can export them to files and import them into the Web UI.

  1. Select "Question Studio" from the side menu
  2. Click "Backup" in the dialog
  3. Select a destination folder
  4. The following two files are written to the destination folder:
  5. HandbookXQuestions.qbz: All questions
  6. HandbookXQuestionBooks.hqz: All question books

Note: If files with the same name already exist in the destination, a sequential number is appended, such as HandbookXQuestions(1).qbz.

Importing into the Web UI

The backed-up files can be imported into Question Studio in the Web UI.

For detailed import instructions, see "10. Question Studio" in the Web UI manual.
