13. Question Studio

Question Studio is a feature for creating and managing exams and questionnaires.

Note: This feature is only available for accounts with Question Studio enabled.

Screen Layout

Select "Question Studio" from the side menu to display the Question Studio screen.

3 Tabs

Three tabs are available at the top of the screen:

Creating Exams/Questionnaires Workflow

The basic workflow for creating and publishing exams or questionnaires:

1. Create Questions (Question Tab)

First, create questions to use in exams or questionnaires in the "Question" tab.

2. Create Question Book (Book Tab)

Next, create an exam book or questionnaire book in the "Book" tab and add the created questions.

3. Publish Question Book

Once published, users can take exams or respond to questionnaires.

Search bar below tabs for searching questions by keyword.

Question List

Created questions are displayed in card format. Each question shows:

• Question icon (color and icon vary by question type)
• Question text

Creating Questions

1. Click the "+" button
2. "Add Question" dialog appears
3. Select "Exam" or "Questionnaire" tab
4. Select question type (each type is displayed as a colored button)
5. Enter question content
6. Set choices and correct answers
7. Click "Save"

Editing Questions

1. Double-click a question
2. Edit screen appears
3. Make changes
4. Click "Save"

Edit Mode

Click the Edit (pen icon) button to enter edit mode.

Importing Questions

1. Click Import button
2. Select question file (.qbz, .hqz, .hbz)
3. Import executes

Exporting Questions

1. Click Export button
2. Select questions to export in dialog
3. Export executes

Question Types

Question Studio allows creating questions in two categories: "Exam" and "Questionnaire".

Exam Question Types (6 types)

Question types for exam books. Set correct answers for scoring.

Questionnaire Question Types (3 types)

Question types for questionnaire books. No correct answers, used for collecting responses.

Exam Question Type Details

Fill in the Blank

Question format where examinees fill in blanks in text.

Editor Layout

Answer Field Settings

• Click "Add Answer Field" to insert numbered fields like ((1)) at cursor position
• Numbers in double parentheses become fill-in-the-blank fields
• Multiple correct answers can be set for each field

Sort

Question format where examinees arrange items in correct order.

• Set answers in correct order following the instruction
• 3 answer fields provided initially
• Add answers with "+ Add Answer" button
• Drag handle (three lines) on right to change order
• Red minus button on left to delete answers

Point Selection

Question format where examinees select correct positions on an image.

• Set image in answer area (click image icon in upper right)
• Click on image to add pins following instruction
• Pins are labeled A, B, C...
• For each pin:
• Set title
• Mark as correct with checkbox
• Green pins are correct, other colors are incorrect
• Drag pins to adjust position

Connect

Question format matching left items with right items.

• Set pairs following "Each row is an answer candidate" instruction
• Each "Answer Pair" has:
• Blue circle icon: Left item
• Green square icon: Right item
• 2 answer pairs provided initially
• Add pairs with "+ Add Answer Pair" button
• Red minus button on right to delete pairs

Select

Question format selecting correct answer(s) from choices. Multiple selection possible.

• Follow "Each row is an answer candidate. Click check button to select correct answer" instruction
• For each choice:
• Enter answer text
• Mark correct with checkbox on right (multiple allowed)
• 2 choices provided initially
• Add choices with "+ Add Answer" button
• Red minus button on left to delete choices
• Handle (three lines) on right to change order

Image Selection

Question format selecting correct image(s).

Answer Settings

• Follow instruction for setting choices
• Click "+ Add Image" to add image choices
• For each choice:
• Select image (from file)
• Enter text label if needed
• Mark correct with checkbox (multiple allowed)
• Red minus button on left to delete choices

Partial Credit Feature

For exam questions with multiple answers, partial credit can be awarded for partially correct answers.

Question Types Supporting Partial Credit

Setting Partial Credit

1. Questions meeting conditions show "(partial credit)" in edit screen
2. Click "Set Partial Credit" button to enable
3. Set individual scores for each answer (blank, choice, etc.)
4. Total question score equals sum of individual scores

Scoring Rules

• Fill in the Blank, Sort, Connect: Correct answer scores are added
• Point Selection, Select, Image Selection: Partial credit awarded only when selecting correct answers only. Selecting any incorrect answer results in 0 points

Tip: Partial credit enables more detailed evaluation of examinee understanding.

Questionnaire Question Type Details

10-Point Scale Question

Question format requesting evaluation on 0-10 scale. Suitable for NPS and similar evaluations.

Features

• Respondents choose from 11 levels (0-10)
• No need to set individual choices (0-10 displayed automatically)

Selective Question

Questionnaire question with selectable choices. Display format can be selected.

• For Radio/DropDown, checkmark indicates default selection

Questionnaire question with free-form text response.

Publishing Question Books

1. Enter edit mode
2. Select books to publish
3. Click "Publish" button
4. Revision update confirmation dialog appears
5. Publishing executes

Published books become accessible to users based on settings.

Editing Question Books

1. Select one book in edit mode and click "Edit"
2. Or double-click a book

In edit screen: - Change title - Change cover image - Set time limit - Add/delete/reorder questions

Exporting Question Books

1. Select books to export in edit mode
2. Click "Export" button
3. Select destination folder
4. Exported in .hqz format

Deleting Question Books

1. Select books to delete in edit mode
2. Click "Delete" button
3. Click "OK" in confirmation dialog

Exam/Questionnaire Results Tab

Tab for viewing answer results of published question books.
