13. Question Studio

Question Studio is a feature for creating and managing exams and surveys.

Note: This feature is only available for accounts with the Question Studio feature enabled.

Screen Layout

Select "Question Studio" from the side menu to display the Question Studio screen.

3 Tabs

There are 3 tabs at the top of the screen:

Tab Title Description
Questions Question Studio Create and manage individual questions
Books Question Books Create and manage exam/survey books containing questions
Results Question Studio View answer results

Creating Exams & Surveys: Workflow

The basic workflow for creating and publishing exams or surveys is as follows:

1. Create Questions (Questions Tab)

First, create questions for use in exams or surveys on the "Questions" tab.

2. Create a Question Book (Books Tab)

Next, create an exam book or survey book on the "Books" tab and add your questions to it.

3. Publish the Question Book

Publish the question book so that users can take exams or answer surveys.

A "Search Questions" search bar is available below the tabs to search questions by keyword.

Question List

Created questions are displayed as cards in a list. Each question shows:

Creating a Question

  1. Tap the "+" button
  2. The "Add Question" dialog appears
  3. Select the "Exam" or "Survey" tab
  4. Select a question type (each type is shown as a colored button)
  5. Enter the question content
  6. Set the answer choices and correct answers
  7. Tap "Save"

Editing a Question

  1. Double-tap a question
  2. The edit screen appears
  3. Modify the content
  4. Tap "Save"

Edit Mode

Tap the edit (pencil icon) button to enter edit mode.

Action Bar

In edit mode, an action bar is displayed at the bottom of the screen:

Importing Questions

  1. Tap the import button
  2. Select a question file (.qbz, .hqz, .hbz)
  3. The import is executed

Exporting Questions

  1. Tap the export button
  2. Select the questions to export in the export dialog
  3. The export is executed

Question Types

Question Studio offers two categories of questions: "Exam" and "Survey".

Exam Question Types (6 Types)

Question types for use in exam books. Correct answers can be set for scoring.

Question Type Color Description
Fill-in Blue Questions where examinees enter the correct answer in blanks within a text
Sort Turquoise Questions where answer choices are arranged in the correct order
Pin Selection Green Questions where the correct position on an image is marked with a pin
Connection Purple Questions where left and right items are correctly matched
Selection Dark Purple Questions where the correct answer is chosen from multiple choices
Image Selection Orange Questions where the correct answer is chosen from image choices

Survey Question Types (3 Types)

Question types for use in survey books. No correct answers are set; they are used to collect responses.

Choice Question Yellow Select answers from choices (Radio/DropDown/CheckBox formats available)
10-Point Rating Orange Rate on a scale from 0 to 10
Free Text Purple (Blue-Violet) Respond with free-form text

Exam Question Type Details

Fill-in

A question format where blanks (fill-in answer fields) are created within a text, and examinees enter the correct answers.

Sort

A question format where multiple choices are arranged in the correct order.

A question format where items on the left are correctly matched with items on the right.

A question format where the correct answer is chosen from multiple choices. Multiple correct answers are also supported.

Partial Scoring

For exam questions with multiple answers per question, partial credit can be awarded for partially correct responses.

Question Types Supporting Partial Scoring

Fill-in 2 or more answer fields (blanks)
Sort 3 or more items to sort
Connection 3 or more connection pairs
Pin Selection 2 or more correct pins
Selection 2 or more correct choices
Image Selection 2 or more correct images

How to Configure Partial Scoring

  1. In the question edit screen, eligible questions display "(Partial Scoring Available)"
  2. Tap "Set Partial Scoring" to enable the feature
  3. Set individual scores for each answer (blank, choice, etc.)
  4. The total score for the question equals the sum of individual scores

Scoring Rules

Tip: Using partial scoring allows for a more detailed evaluation of examinee comprehension.


Survey Question Type Details

10-Point Rating

A question format that asks for a rating on a scale from 0 to 10. Suitable for NPS (Net Promoter Score) and similar evaluations.

Time & Questions Time limit and number of questions
Published Status Icon Shown when the book has been published

Exam Book Creation Dialog

Item Description
Cover Image Tap the image icon in the upper right to set
Title Enter the book title
Time (0 = No Limit) Set the time limit in minutes
Allow Only One Attempt When ON, the exam can be taken only once
Show Exam Results When ON, results are displayed after the exam

Edit Mode

Tap the edit (pencil icon) button to enter edit mode.

Action Bar

In edit mode, an action bar is displayed at the bottom of the screen:

Publishing a Question Book

  1. Enter edit mode
  2. Select the book to publish
  3. Tap the "Publish" button
  4. A revision update confirmation dialog appears
  5. The publishing process is executed

Published books become accessible to users according to the configured settings.

Editing a Question Book

  1. In edit mode, select one book and tap "Edit"
  2. Or double-tap the book

On the edit screen, you can: - Change the title - Change the cover image - Set the time limit - Add, delete, or reorder questions

Exporting a Question Book

  1. In edit mode, select the book to export
  2. Tap the "Export" button
  3. Select the save destination folder
  4. The book is exported in .hqz format

Deleting a Question Book

  1. In edit mode, select the book to delete
  2. Tap the "Delete" button
  3. Tap "OK" in the confirmation dialog

Results Tab

A tab for viewing answer results for published question books.

Exam Results

Exam book results are displayed in a table format:

(Cover Image) The book's cover image
Book Name The book's title
Revision Number The book's version
Attempts Number of times the exam was taken
Average Score Average score of examinees
(Export) Button to export results

Survey Results

Survey book results are displayed in a table format:

Revision Number The book's version
Respondents Number of users who responded
(Export) Button to export results

Exporting Results

Tap the export button on a book's row to export the result data.
